Cancer immunotherapy from a Biotech company perspective

Prof. Radek Špíšek, MD, PhD

Prof. Špíšek graduated from the 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague, and holds a PhD in immunology. Between 2000 and 2002, he conducted research at the Institut de Biologie, Université de Nantes, France. From 2005 to 2007, he worked in the laboratory of Nobel Laureate Prof. Ralph Steinman at Rockefeller University in New York, focusing on cellular physiology and immunology.

His scientific work centers on tumor immunology and cancer immunotherapy. He is a professor at the 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, and holds postgraduate clinical certifications in pediatrics, allergology, and clinical immunology.

Prof. Špíšek joined SOTIO in 2010, where he has been actively involved in research and manufacturing leadership. He was appointed CEO in March 2018 and has also served as Chief Medical Officer since 2025.
