PhD Club: Epigenetic Landscapes of Low-Grade Meningiomas: Methylation Profiles and Clinical Implications by Kateřina Kubáňová

Dear colleagues,
I would like to invite you to the lecture by Kateřina Kubáňová called "Epigenetic Landscapes of Low-Grade Meningiomas: Methylation Profiles and Clinical Implications". The lecture will be on Wednesday June 4th at 9AM in the room 1.09 at IMTM.

Abstract
Global DNA methylation profiling plays a crucial role in understanding the biological behavior of low-grade meningiomas, which are typically considered benign but can exhibit unpredictable clinical outcomes. By examining genome-wide methylation patterns, epigenetic changes can be identified, that may not be apparent through traditional histopathological grading. This profiling can help distinguish subgroups with higher recurrence risk or more aggressive potential, enabling more accurate prognostication. Clinically, integrating methylation profiling into diagnostic workflows can inform individualized treatment strategies, guide surveillance intensity, and potentially identify novel therapeutic targets, ultimately improving patient outcomes and reducing unnecessary interventions.
