PhD Club lecture: PhD Club lecture: Subtyping of the amyloid deposits by mass spectrometry in subcutaneous fat aspirate specimens by Anna Bartáková

Dear colleagues,
I would like to invite you to the lecture by Anna Bartáková called Subtyping of the amyloid deposits by mass spectrometry in subcutaneous fat aspirate specimens. The lecture will be on wednesday October 9nd at 9AM in room 1.09 at IMTM.

Abstract
The lecture covers the topic of my diploma thesis: “Subtyping of amyloid deposits by mass spectrometry in subcutaneous fat aspirate specimens.”

The first part provides a theoretical introduction to the subject. It briefly describes a serious disease called amyloidosis and approaches to its treatment, followed by an overview of methods for amyloid subtyping. The main focus is on amyloid subtyping from adipose tissue aspirate samples using LC-MS analysis. The analysis can be affected by the local anesthetic mesocain, which contaminates the tissue sample during sampling.

The second part discusses the experimental aspect of the thesis. It includes the preparation of model samples and a description of the tested protocols for sample preparation. The results of the parameters monitored in the processed samples are then discussed, and the findings are summarized.
