STRIKE Consortium to meet in Segovia for 6th Progress meeting

On 9 and 10 February 2026, the STRIKE consortium will come together in Segovia for its 6th Progress Meeting, hosted by Nanotech Solutions SL. The meeting will take place at the Hotel San Antonio el Real, providing the setting for two days of focused scientific exchange and strategic discussions as the project enters its final year.

Following the successful format of the previous meeting, the programme will centre on progress reports and discussions across the three core research areas of the STRIKE project:

  • Metals for theranostic and imaging purposes
  • Magnetic nanomaterials for drug delivery in osteosarcoma therapy
  • Magnetic beads for liquid biopsy

IMTM and Palacký University will be represented by doc. RNDr. Václav Ranc, PhD, and Sunčica Sukur, MSc, who will present and discuss recent progress across all three focus areas. With STRIKE approaching its final phase, this meeting will offer an important opportunity to shape the remaining work of the project. Partners will focus on defining the final research priorities for the months ahead.

As STRIKE is dedicated to the use of magnetic nanomaterials to address malignant tumours, early-stage researchers from the consortium will also take part in a dedicated Magnetic Workshop following the meeting. Running from 11 to 13 February, the International Workshop on Dynamical Magnetisation Phenomena in Nanomaterials: From Magnetic Losses to Particle Imaging will combine lectures and hands-on sessions covering imaging, hyperthermia, sensing applications and related topics.

More details will be shared as the event approaches, so stay tuned.
